Innovation-driven collaboration enables Chinese automakers to go overseas
Shanghai, China – Bosch, a leading global supplier of technology and services, signed a master license agreement for Bosch Car Service in Indonesia with X-Motors, a service provider offering across-the-board support to Chinese automakers’ global expansion efforts. Earlier, on 18 February 2025, Indonesia’s first Bosch Car Service flagship store opened in Jakarta, jointly launched by both parties. Bosch and X-Motors plan to open 120 Bosch Car Service stores across Indonesia, providing one-stop integrated aftermarket services for mid-to-high-end vehicles. At the same time, the partnership aims to explore innovative business models. By combining Bosch Mobility Aftermarket’s global expertise in “Parts, Diagnostics, and Workshop Services” with X-Motors’ strengths in serving Chinese OEMs as they expand internationally, this collaboration seeks to create a powerful one-stop solution.
The newly opened Bosch Car Service flagship store in Jakarta spans 4,000 square meters and houses both a workshop and an automobile sales service shop. The facility provides a full range of solutions for passenger vehicles, from sales to maintenance and repair services. The workshop has more than twenty workstations, providing Indonesian car owners with one-stop comprehensive automotive after-sales services including car detailing, mechanical repairs, sheet metal spraying and painting. Meanwhile, the Jakarta flagship store features a dedicated Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) zone for new energy vehicles, which offers maintenance and repair services for power batteries.
For China’s automotive industry, global expansion is emerging as a new growth opportunity. According to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), automobile exports reached 5,86 million units, marking a 19,3% yearly growth in 2024. As a leading global supplier of technology and services, Bosch offers a wide range of products for export vehicle models, including electric axles, control units, smart cockpit domain controllers, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and electronic braking systems, all of which meet the stringent safety and cybersecurity standards of international markets, and local regulations as well. Additionally, Bosch’s automotive service network boasts over 10,000 authorized workshops worldwide, with comprehensive experience in global expansion. The collaboration between Bosch Mobility Aftermarket and X-Motors merges vehicle sales with comprehensive professional workshops, providing an innovative approach to support Chinese automakers in expanding their overseas market. The concurrent opening of the Chinese OEM brand car dealer shop highlights the success of such partnerships. Moving forward, based on the “Parts, Diagnostics and Workshop Service” one-stop solution and a network of more than 10,000 premium workshops worldwide, Bosch Mobility Aftermarket will explore and implement more innovative models globally and actively collaborate with partners in various fields.
